Ganz. of 1937 Because the sophomore year is rather a preliminary to the more eventful senior high school years, the Sophomore Class has not had an opportunity to prove its abilities in sponsoring school affairsg how- ever, it is planning for the first time in sopoinore history a picnic to be held in the near future. In keeping with the schedule set by the Inter-Cllass Council, they planned only one dance for the year, the iipllllllllilll l'roni . This event was held on October 30 at Beach Gym. Shibley. freshmen The Freshman Class at its first meeting of the year elected Jack VValchi, president of the class, John Smith, vice-president, Bud Green, secretary, and Jim Sparks, treasurer. Near the beginning of the school year, they sponsored an assembly welcoming the seventh graders. Speeches were made by difterent mem- bers ofthe Freshman Class explaining the activ- ities ofthe different clubs to the seventh grade.
