Perhaps you have noted the marker on the Student Union lawn commemorating that event. The former President observed that This is the kind of school that builds character and trains for the highest type of leadership. Over the years, that has remained one of our College ' s prime objectives and a basic reason for being. Never has a high type of leadership been more needed in the life of our nation. I hope that out of your years at Rocky you may have found direction, encouragement and resolve to be a part of that informed and concerned citizenry which is so desperately needed in today ' s world.
