Dean ' s Message DR. ERNEST R. WOOD B. A. , University of Ohio B. S. , University of Ohio M. A. , Clark University Ph. D. , University of Chicago. We at Rocky have seen significant developments in recent years under two presidents — Dr. Herbert W. Hines and Dr. Philip M. Widenhouse. Both have served the College devotedly ; they have dreamed great dreams for the future and worked tirelessly for their realization. You who are upper class men have witnessed the fulfillment of one of these dreams. When you came the beautiful new library was still a dream, with President Hines, Librarian Dr. Kuhns and a committee working long hours to translate their vision into a blueprint. You saw the groundbreaking. At our last Commencement Dr. Hines participated in the laying of the cor- nerstone. In June Dr. Widenhouse will participate in the dedication. The library is a symbol of many developments during your student days. It is a symbol also of hands joined across the years, reaching back to the founding of higher education in Montana in 1883 and forward to join other hands in the future to make a significant contribution to education every- where. You too have contributed — in the development of responsible student government, in raising the level of academic achievement and in maintain- ing an enviable record in athletics. A high level of performance in music, drama and on deputation teams has not only enriched the life of the campus but has had its impact on many communities in Montana and Wyoming. Many of you have contributed through organizations and committees to campus life. Some have helped to construct the new Chapel in the Pines. You have all contributed to the fund for a Student Union. With each new advance your degree from Rocky will become more valuable. Rocky ' s future is in part your future, and your future is in part Rocky ' s future. We all join in wishing the seniors Godspeed as they move on to new adventure in their future lives. I trust that through your experience at Rocky you have a better understanding of the world in which you live, and that you have gained a new appreciation of your potentialities and greater confidence in your ability to live and work creatively. May all who meet you respect you for your wholesome, constructive Christian influence.

President ' s Message DR. PHILIP M. WIDENHOUSE B.A. , Wofford College B. D. , Chicago Theological Seminary D. D. , Chicago Theological Seminary L. L. D. , Pacific University D. D. . Northland College My first year as President coincides with your senior and final year at Rocky Mountain College. I shall always remember with appreciation the class of 1959, the first graduating class under my administration as President. The free and gracious way in which seniors and students of Rocky Mountain College have wel- comed the Widenhouse family into the College will always be gratefully appreciated. I welcome you now into the alumni and will look forward to many years of working together for the continued growth and success of the College. Together we will make of Rocky Mountain College all that we hope and dream for it. There will always be a warm welcome to each of you to return to the campus and renew the friendships formed during these four eventful years.
