The College of Montana, one of our component parts, was found- ed in 1883, ten years before any other institution of higher learn- ing in the state. We are rich therefore in traditions, history and achievements — at the same time that we are young in spirit and inbued with youthful ambition and great plans. This college annual has historic importance because it is the first to be pubished under the na me of ROCKY MOUNTAIN COLLEGE. I am sure it will be followed by many others, each of which in its turn will record substantial progress and suc- cessful completion of important steps in the expansion and development of outstanding educational service.
