Typing l and ll are primar- ily designed for students planning secretarial ca- reers although these courses are also invaluable aids to college-bound students. For those planning a career in bookkeeping or some other form of of- fice work, Shorthand I and Il and Bookkeeping are available. A practice room, equipped with office machines, is used by members of the office prac- tice class. Distributive Education offers work experience as well as classroom training. In the classroom, D.E. students are instructed the mechanics of sales- manship such as recording sales and setting up displays. D.E. students also learn the rights of a customer, the duties of a salesperson, and the eco- nomics of wholesale and retail selling.
