Through the study of prose and poetry the student acquires a greater knowledge of literature. The English curriculum includes aver- age classes for students with normal ability, modified courses for slower learn- ers, and advanced courses in creative writing, journalism, and exposition for superior students. English 3200 is a spe- cial course in which each student works at his own rate. Developmental Reading students use individual reading ma- chines to learn to read faster with greater comprehension.
