Graduates ot the past will doubtless be pleasantly surprised at what they see when they visit the new campus, with its modern and beauti- ful buildings. Students ot the present are now enjoying the use ot these facilities, and students of the future are eagerly awaiting the day when they may claim this plant as their school, It has been a pleasure for the school administration and the School Board ot Rocky Mount to plan tor and provide the buildings which comprise this beautiful plant, and it is our hope that all who come this way will enjoy them to the fullest. Whether it be schedule changes, collecting tees, filling in college applications or transcripts she keeps the office going with her usual skill and efficiency. No matter how rushed she is, her keen sense of humor never fails. ln addition to the numerous per- sonal problems that daily confront Miss Kate Parks Kitchin in her capacity of Guidance Counselor, there are many instances of other natures to be met. These include guiding students in preparation for employ- ment, aiding college bound seniors with admission procedures and helping them obtain scholarships. ln every phase of activity she is the epitome of poise, courtesy and tact . . . o gracious lady. i i '19 '?'

istrative leaders Guide and Direct Us SUPERINTENDENT'S STAFF Upon the shoulders of Miss Glenda Overman, Mrs. Ann Spruce, and Mrs. Frances Speight rests the responsibility of keeping track of the records and personnel of eleven schools that comprise the Rocky Mount City System. OFFICE ASSISTANTS Since the principal's office is the heart, generally speaking, of all activities of the school, it is necessary to have a group of student assistants to help keep things running smoothly. The i954-55 big wheels ifrom left to rightl are Pat Edwards, Linda Joyner, Jeanette Mclntyre, Jean Root, and Clara Ann Gilbert. SCHOOL BOARD The Board of Education of the Rocky Mount School District is composed of civic minded citizens working for the betterment of the young people. They bind the ties between the school, the community, and industry. Our board consists of Mrs. T. R. Easterling, Mr. D. S. Johnson, Mrs. Julian Whitehurst, Mr. William Coleman, Mr. G, S, Edwards, Mr. Guy Barnes, Mr. Frank Wilkinson, Mr. J. R. Wells, Mr. Myers Ivey, and Mr. L, B. Edwards. GUIDANCE CENTER ASSISTANTS Lost something? Need a band aid? Need someone to help with Student Organization activities? Then these are the gals to see.
