Jimmy Armstrong Billy Overton Sc' f-fz11 fl Ron' - Imff fo Iifyhl Donald Hooker Mrs. Nancy Gorham Jeanette Batts affinities Having attained that honored position and looked forward to experience as seniors, this group made the most of their opportunities. Besides the regular project of Christ- mas cards the class also sold candy. A senior lobby was built just inside the arcade where the senior steps are with benches and a bulletin board for the posting of all material of special interest to seniors. The main job of the Spring officers was to plan the com- mencement exercises which were well under way with the printing of this annual. Ca- reer Day and Senior Day were added highlights which made the seniors feel very impor- tant. Due to present world conditions many members have signed up for some branch of the armed forces following graduation. Others are going to college - or getting married. This highlight of the Social Year turned out to be as big a success as any formerly given. The Junior Class also sponsored, for the second straight year- a Polish War Orphan. This group has not forgotten their former classmate, George Newby, who is con- fined with Infantile Paralysis in Richmond, Virginia. This is the main project by which the Sophomores make money. At the close of the basket- ball season, the class had made enough profit to meet their current bills and begin work on sponsoring a War Orphan. As yet they haven't gotten one but this project will be well under way next year. Following the election of the second semester officers, the class began making plans for the highlight ofthe year, the Sophomore Party, given in the form of a picnic and dance.
