In this, the 1949 Hi-Noc-Ar, we present our world, Rocky Mount High School, and its production The Best Year of Our Lives , in which we, the students, play many parts. VVe are the stars, the supporting players and the understudies. Just as a professional play depends upon minute details, and countless unnamed persons for success, so does our school need the help of every single member of its cast for a smooth production. No one is unimportant, no one is all-important, for every- one has a role. There are those who direct, those who perform and those who are content to work behind scenes without special recognition. Ours is a stupendous production with a cast of over 750 working together for a smash hit! The pages of this volume. then, are a reflection of our life during 1948-49 The Best Year of Our Lives .
