Hogue whose loyalty and dedication to his work earned for him the respect and admiration of student body and faculty alike. The dedication is made in appreciation of the help and guidance that he gave to countless students during the twelve years he served Rocky Grove High School as teacher and guidance counselor. His vital tasks of arranging schedules, giving extensive psychological tests, and offering advice whenever approached were all carried out with efficiency and thoughtfulness. On many occasions, by sacrificing personal welfare and devoting extra effort in our behalf, he patiently and diligently attended to the various needs of the school which were not an essential part of his work, and by doing so he became and remains an inspiration to those seeking some measure of success in life. llis departure from Rocky Grove to assume the responsibilities of Public School Psychologist for Venango County occasioned many heartfelt thanks. We formally express our gratitude to you, Mr. Hogue, teacher, counselor, and friend. 5 R. GLENN CARTER A .B. ,Pennsylvania State University. M. Ed., University of Pittsburgh. Through the twelve year's in which we have tried to increase our knowledge, we have met many people who shall remain as guiding stars and inspirations for us the rest of our lives. Ranking first on our list are our teachers who have remained calm, cool, and collected though we have tried their patiences many times. We shall never be able to repay them for the great favors and ever lasting knowledge they have made available to us. To start off this memorable year we elected our class officers to handle our business problems for us. The next episode came on October 24, when some members of our class exposed their acting talents through the presentation of our Senior Play. If people look closely, they can see the flecks of stardust that still twinkle in our eyes as we reminisce the high- lights of May 15, the night of our Senior Prom. This is the high spot of our year and weshall never forget the happiness and carefreeness that linger in our minds as we recall this incident' As we leave this protected fortress and enter the unprotected world outside, we want to wish the Juniors as happy and as memorable a year as we have enjoyed. JUNICR CLASS HISTORY The Junior Year . . . said to be the busiest. Well, if not the busiest, the most hectic. The various activities that began in the first part of the term gradually gained momentum until they assumed huge proportions. First there was the election of class officers. Then the meetings ofJunior Class officials began to in- volve more people as committees were appointed. Many other activities took up our time. One of the most successful was the Junior Play in April. Then came the climax of our Junior Year, the night that was anticipated by Juniors and Seniors alike, . . . The Junior-Senior Prom. Mrs. Walkowski, our able class advisor, helped us in the planning this all important occasion The prom will be held in our memories for a long time to come. And now as this wonderful year draws to a close, we realize how little time we have left. Our Senior Yeardraws closer as we try to profit by this year's experience, Beckoned on by the big year ahead, we add a wish that the sophomores might profit as much from their Junior Year as we have. When the elementary pupils have been completely transferred to the new building, the high school will have the facilities necessary to expand its program. These facilities will enable the administration and the school board to expand the high school curriculum to include such new subjects as business law, driver's education, and French. Proposed plans also include the expansion of our rapidly-growing library to four rooms. The new rooms will provide the now existing library with an office, magazine room, and a conference room. Many other de- partments will also have the needed room in which to expand their programs. An addition is being planned to house the homemaking and the music departments. This is a definite step forward for our community in educational facilities. A 155 A Aft sag F W F' U !3NQ! It is composed of three sen- iors, three juniors, and one sophomore, Each year the girls and Miss Rishel, their advisor, choose one sophomore and two juniors to replace the three seniors who will graduate at the end of the year. The girl who begins when she is a sophomore becomes the president in her senior year. The president this year is Annette McDaniel. Next year Dorothy Fisher will be president. The girls who will replace the seniors of this year will be announced at the Athletic Banquet. The girls sell candy to the pupils in the lunch rooms and to the people attending basketball games. The money that they make is used to help pay for the Athletic Banquet, which is held each year before the Spring Dance. In this way we show our appreciation to the basketball squads and coaches. 75 IH 5' ' A S S s I M ee- - on or t in Mt -I , ry: s -K-f -eb- FRONT ROW, Left to Right: Gail Brecht, James Latchaw, Dorothy Fisher, George Sibley, Bonnie Byers, Kay Flickner, Janet Anders, Barbara Karns, Darlene Huff, Carol Bunce, SECOND ROW: Karen Hogue, Esther Sherretts, William Detrie, Gary Borger, Dixie Shuffstall, Judy Brown, John Douglas, Jack Dalaba, Raymond McAlevy, Bill Nicol, Philip Rodemoyer, June Hughes, Jane Houser, Allan Pierce, THIRD ROW: Elisabeth Sibley, Garcia R.
