In short, tie besteducation can be accomplished only when the best of safety precautions, sanitary conditions, and pleasing appearance of the physical plant are maintained. We at Rocky Grove feel we have had just that due to the untiring and never failing efforts of Samuel Confer who retired December 15, l95l. Mr. Confer came to Rocky Grove as head janitor in October 1934, and was made superintend- ant of buildings for all of Sugarcreek Township during the 1946-47 school term. u ' W XXXXXX

He was President of the Board in 1948. Prior to serving on the Board Mr. Allen was an employee of the District as a member of the custodial staff from 1933 until 1942. Mr. Allen was keenly interested in young people and had a great interest in the activities of the school, particularly in athletics. Mr. Allen was proud of the schools of the Township and their accomplish- ments, and was ever ready to proclaim their merits. XXXXX
