THE ROGAHI STAFF Presents A LOOK AT THE GOOD TIMES’ JANET PAULEY, Editor 1 There is much in school to offer though small our school might be But with its trained employees it’s then that we might see That school is more than homework it’s a place with a magic key. -Allen Lane Freeman Day after Day it’s working me down as I’m given test after test But with our teachers here in school I'm sure to do my best. -Allen Lane Freeman We have checkers, chess and ping-pong we have time for volleyball But December through February it’s strictly basketball. -Allen Lane Freeman 4 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be bom, and a time to die; A time to plant, and a time to harvest; Ecclesiastes 3:1-2 US Belinda Jane Buckner 6 . ... D. Gregory POEM TO THE SENIORS On winged feet the four years pass And now we honor our Senior class. Beyond these walls, this town, this state A whole new world now lies in wait. You've much to learn, we're often told Wisdom to gain before you're old But tonight - before you turn and go Your separate ways, as well we know. Enjoy this place, these hours, this school In memory they'll return to you. . . . THE JUNIOR CLASS IF YOU LEAVE ME NOW If you leave me now You take away the biggest part of me. Oh, no. Baby please don't go. And if you leave me now You take away the very heart of me. Oh, no. Baby please don’t go. Oh, girl, I just want you to stay. A love like ours is love that's hard to find. How could we let it slip away? We've come too far to leave it all behind, How could we end it up this way? When tomorrow comes and we both feel better The feeling's said to fade. If you leave me now. If you leave me now You take away the biggest part of me. Oh, no. Baby please don’t go. Oh, girl, I've got to have you by my side. If you leave me now. Have you seen them, large and small, some with mantled head and hood, crowned in glory all their own as if touched by God they stood. No two of these wonders are the same yellow, red, gold and brown, just like we people you see, for we too are by God crowned. Touched with His brush we stand some little, some big or tall, Verdun hued indeed to show, that God the gardener loves us all. So why do we wonder when, we pass this old familiar way, that one flower has been moved, to honor the house in God's bouquet? For, sure enough dear friends you see, God too gardens a great place, touching each with tender love transplanting us to live in eternal grace. And tho this pretty flower has gone, to bloom anew in this other land, we who grow by this path will wait, until we too are chosen by His hand. Jack T. Day THE ROSE STILL GROWS BEYOND THE WALL Near a shady wall a rose once grew. Budded and blossomed in God's free light, Watered and fed by morning dew. Shedding its sweetness day and night. As it grew and blossomed fair and tall. Slowly rising to loftier height, It came to a crevice in the wall. Through which there shone a beam of light. Onward it crept with added strength. With never a thought of fear or pride. It followed the light through the crevice’s length And unfolded itself on the other side. The light, the dew, the broadening view Were found the same as they were before; And it lost itself in beauties new. Breathing its fragrance more and more. Shall claim of death cause us to grieve. And make our courage faint or fail? Nayl Let us faith and hope receive: The rose still grows beyond the wall. Scattering fragrance far and wide, Just as it did in days of yore, Just as it did on the other side. Just as it will for ever more. A .L. Frink 100
