The boys soared over the county teams to capture the Bland County Championship. The boys brought home the Runner-up Trophy for the District S Tournament, by f loggi ng Ceres 46-28, and grounding the Check Rockets with a final score of 56-35. The Eagles finally got theirwings clipped by Showsville 41-36 in the championship game. The Eagles ended the season with a 48 point average per gome. Signed: Class Prophets KITTY FOGLESONG CAROL DUNN Class History Four years ago a class of 50 students entered R.G.H.S. ready for a year of hard work. This was the turning point in History. We studied a great deal ond talked the same way. Mrs. Pruett, our homeroom teacher, was delighted to be rid of such a brilliant class, so she happily passed us to higher rank—Sophomores. In our Sophomore year we had 48 students. We were divided into two groups and placed in different rooms. Mr. Mauldin, our sponsor, planned a weiner roast for us in May. As a result we almost lost our chance to be Juniors. It was so chilly we almost froze. Our Junior year was a thrilling experience for each of us. We received ourcloss rings, and had an exciting Junior-Senior Banquet. There were 45 students to share in this pleasure. Mrs. Gordon was our sponsor. We began our Senior year with 40 students. A short while ago we gained another one—bringing us to a grand total of 41. We hod a Christmas Dinner and are looking forward with pleasure to doing our Senior play. Mrs. Pruett and Miss Blessing are our sponsors. Mr. Updyke has been our principal through all these troubled times. Mr. EarleCrabtree joined the staff of teachers this year.
