Class Prophecy ———— 0 The Eighth Grade Class of 1969 peers into the old reliable crystal ball and around 1980 the mist clears and we see: Famous ping-pong champion, Jimmy Merck, and his athletic wife, Catherine Eubanks, are on their way to Hollywood to visit famous actor and actress, Faren Davis and Lynn Davis, stars of ''Miss America and the Monster, '' and country singer, Kaye Shepherd, with her hit record Bubble Gum Between your Toes Feels Icky . While they are gone their eight children are being kept by nursemaid, Janice Leggett, famous for her coffee commercials on television. Boarding the plane, they are welcomed by stewardess, Karen Dickerson, and introduced to pilot, John Box, and co-pilot, Eddie Mason, known for their flight over the South Pole while on their way from Miami to New York. During the flight they were served flaming turtle toes prepared by head chef, Dennis Barrow and chief bottlewasher, Johnny Thompson. After lunch, they had an interesting conversation with scientists, Leroy and Allen Davis, famous for their cough syrup, Moonshine . Before landing, they read an article about the successful turkey hunt of Shane Ayen and Tim Eubanks, in the wilds of Mississippi. Upon arriving at the airport, they were wildly driven by chaffeau, Gloria Weaver, to Faren's French provencial mansion designed by architect, Kristy McKis- sick and decorated by Miranda Box in Early Chinese, and landscaped in Hot Desert by gardener, Randy Dickerson. They quickly noticed Hollywood was a wild place when they saw beachboy, Bobby Vallum, chasing the 'Ban'' commercial girl, Vickie Dyer; three of Hell's Angels, Lynn Tanner, Dawson Dyess, and Deloris Mathis racing on their tricycles; and CIA men, Jerome Davis and Thomas Holland, playing Russian Roulette with a cap pistol. Later they ran into Hippies, Tone Thrower, Lisa Brannan, Shirley Beck, and Maranda Middleton, being told by their leader, David Smith, how to get high on black coffee sweetened with lemon juice. On their way to brutally bring him in were policeman, John Dees, and Salvation Army woman, Vickie Eubanks. Upon touring the local Old Folks Home they were shown a couple of familiar faces by head nurse, Ethel Havard, ---Mr. Eubanks and Mr. Reed, getting their kicks by watching reruns of 'Lassie'' and old Rocky Creek football films. Becoming upset, Mrs. Merch suffered a heart attack and was rushed to the nearest hospital where she was put under the skillful hands of heart transplant surgeon, Larry Dickson, who was looking for his first successful case. She recovered quickly due to the efforts of nurses, Janette Ferguson and Kay Gante, just recently graduated from their home study course offered by educator, Ray Thomley. Returning to Faren's mansion, they were admitted by butler, Jarvis Dickerson, and served warm tomato juice by maid, Dorothy Rouse. They then went into the main hall to attend the wedding of Renthia Strickland and David Davis, who marched to the altar to the tune of ''The Tall and the Brave , played by Sandra Cooley on the tuba and sung by Dortha Eubanks. But now a blast from the tuba cracks the old crystal ball and the picture fades 18
