We, the seniors of fifty-two, Leave our memories and good times.to you We will take again one final look, And close the covers of all our books. There were days when we were sad and blue And hours of happiness were often few, But that only made us want to succeed And prove our worth through a worthy deed. May we say to our classmates, our friends so true, We shall never forget our years with you: And to our teachers who have worked for our gain, Your kindness and care were not in vain. That words won't speak so loud as a deed, Is a teaching we would do well to heed, Here’s a final wish as we say goodby, -- May our lives do credit to dear, Rockwell High. mt 7 Scere vine 80005 Donated by Goodwill Industries MR Je Woe UG KEE Principal THE OCKET Published by The Senior Class Of ROCKWELL HIGH SCHOOL Dr. L. °C. Our home room teacher, Miss Davis and Mrs. Puckett, enrolled sixty-one Freshmen, a smaller class than usual. We elected as class officers Sue Ritchie, President; Martha Holshouser, Vice-President; Marvin Misenheimer, Secretary; and Geneva File)’ Treasure, slike most. Hreshimaniclasses, thisstirst year followed the usual routine. A year later we entered school again, this time as Sophomores. Our number had decreased until there were only about forty-six on roll. Mrs. Hunt and Mr. Gilkerson were our sponsors. Our class officers were as follows: Sue Ritchie, President; Hayden Earnhardt, Vice-President; Mar- garet Shue, Secretary; and Mike Conry, Treasure. Ten girls were chosen by the Junior class to serve as waitresses at the Junior-Senior banquet. This was a great thrill for the ones who were chosen, Another year rolled around and then we could say we were Juniors. It made us happy to think that we had only one more year in high school. A few more of our classmates dropped out leaving us with only about forty- four Juniors. Our class officers were Bobby Fesperman, President; Min- nie Rattz, Vice-President; Ruth Hooks, Secretary; and Hayden Earnhardt, Treasurer. We began working under the direction of Mrs. Bost and Mrs. Johnson to raise money for the Junior-Senior banquet. We enjoyed giving the play which was entitled‘‘Let Me Out Of Here’’. We also had a good time getting up the Talent Show. Then came the banquet, it required lots of work but everyone was willing to help. Now in the year 1951 we have come to our Senior year. With several of our members dropping out and few new ones coming in we have an en- rollment of forty-three. Withthe help of Mrs. Puckett and Mrs. Hunt, our sponsors, we selected our class officers: Mike Conry, President; Hayden Earnhardt, Vice-President; Sue Ritchie, Secretary; and Martha Holshous - er, Treasure, Everyone enjoyed presenting the play entitled ‘‘Hobgoblin House’’, We are still looking forward to the Junior Senior banquet which will be one of the big events this year. Most of all, however, we are looking forward to Commencement, the time for which we have waited and worked many years. We wish to thank all those who have shared our joys and sorrows and have helped us along the way. We also hope the future will be very bright for each Senior graduating with the class of 1952. Under his direction, a new section, which houses the cafteria and three additional class- rooms was added to the elementary building. Our film library has been enlarged so we can enjoy one of the largest in the county. Play ground space has been increased and provided with the latest in equipment. Attractive and restful lounges have been added for the students. Ail streets around the school grounds have been paved. To our Principal, we say ‘‘thanks’’ for a better Rockwell school! We, the seniors of fifty-two, Leave our memories and good times to you, We will take again one final look, And close the covers of all our books. There were days when we were sad and blue And hours of happiness were often few, But that only made us want to succeed And prove our worth through a worthy deed, May we say to our classmates, our friends so true, We shall never forget our years with you: And to our teachers who have worked for our gain, Your kindness and care were not in vain. That words won’t speak so loud as a deed, Is a teaching we would do well to heed, Here’s a final wish as we say goodby, -- May our lives do credit to dear, Rockwell High. OREO?
