It is, therefore, with deep appreciation and great re- spect we dedicate this 1964 JACKET to all the patrons of Rockwall High School, especially to our parents. Your untiring support and encouragement has made this a most memorable year in our school's history. ,9-aff' lf- X.: , . :reefs'a'ea-me 99992-9a'3i 'wsu is . rib? 'Z Wu? P Q iss. -a is C- Siam? Dedication I What Is School? School is where the bus stops to deliver its load, School is a combination of laughter, winning, tears, losing, living flesh and blood known as youth. School is the happy moment when the football sweetheart and valentine queen are crowned, School is a science lab full of mad scientists working on some new formula. School is a place that is one moment quiet serenity until the ring of a bell brings shouting and laughing students pouring into the halls. School is the teacher who trys to get us to learn things we some- how just never get around to learning, School is a lace where we o to esca e from homey where we P 8 P go to greet our friends, School is a parent who expects an A from a C head and usually gets a C from an A head. School is the principal who is always very interested in our reason for being absent the day before. School is bonfires, pep rallies, the colors orange and white, and the Aggie War Hymn. School is football, football, and still more football. School is many things to usg but, it is mainly aplace full of happy memories to us which we hope this yearbook will bring to mind in the years to come, wxgsjaaaf School Is . . . selling magazines and getting to building bonfires . . . throw a pie . . . being honorary cheerleaders . . painting signs . . . enjoying pep rallies on the square . . . loading band instruments . . . presenting keys to victory is K 1' crashing through Dalhart . . . decorating Christmas tree 'PIII' resting UQ for the state game at the Carrousel in Waco . . . not Dallas. . . 5 ..1 f 1 K M ,V . . - K gag' ss- , -is 5, s - . . . His next was from 7 yards out, behind some fine blocking. Gary Anderson, who played an inspired game, scored from 40 yards out. Then Jackie scored again, after which Woody Barnes made a beautiful kick for the extra point. The Jackets final score was on a dazzling 80 yard run by Jackie Anderson. The Jacket offense started slowly in the first half by scoring only twice, both times by Marc Noel. Sportsmanship Award Received by Dwight Braswell Head Hunter THE HEAD HUNTER Football is a game of effort, courage, determination, hard work, and more often than not, pain. Any individual who chooses to play the game accepts these when he re- ports for practice. Some of these same in- dividuals, however, can not easily accept this necessary formula for winning football every day of every week of workouts. It was with these thoughts in mind that the head hunter was conceived, to give those persons who disciplined themselves to these necessary sacrifices for the achievement of their ultimate goal. The head hunter is given only to those people who are willing to give 100070 plus at all times. lt is a sign of an individual's accomplishments that are not measured by his talents alone. Each boy who earned a head hunter proved not only to himself, but to his peers, that he was willing to sacrifice whatever was necessary for the success of the team. Effort on the playing field, dur- ing practice, and the attitude toward the team's goal could be judged by the number of head hunters that were given to the 1963 AA STATE CHAMPS. People receiving this award for 1963 were the following: Gary Anderson, Kenny Terry, Marc Noel, Jackie Anderson, Mike McCal- lum, Billy Zachary, M. F. Fannin, -Steve Spafford, Woody Barnes, Tom Dooley, George Vaught, Harold Chenault, Randy Sparks, Dwight Braswell, Larry Harris, Steve Durham, Randy Lemons, Freddy Morrow, and Johnny Cullins. 2I A Team Basketball KNEELING: James Cullins, Randy Sparks, Gary Watkins, Mike McCallum, Jackie Anderson STANDING: Coach Clyde Alexander, Kenny Terry, Gary Anderson, James Starr, Harold Chenault Marc Noel, Coach Jerry Shaffer B Team Basketball KNEELING: Bill Crow, M.
