The result of a Cad to Anderson pass which hugged the sideline and out- distanced the Duncanville 's selcondaryl to cross the double stripe, gave the Jackets a 7-0 lead for the halftime scorf. Atkihs kicked the extra point. y 5 The Jackets gained possession of the ball on their own 5, and then went 95 yds.2 on a series of plays for the TD byj Ji. Ander- son carrying over from the 2. The Pah- thers lost 2 yds. on a series of plays arid punted out. 'The Jackets fought' back for 70 yds. and a third TD by Cade. Again Atkins' kick was good. Atkins turned in a wonderful 46 yard run for the first one. J . Ander- son contributed the 2 pointer. Barnes blocked a Cooper punt, gathered in the ball, and raced 44 yards for the other score. Rockwall poured on the steam in the last half. I. Anderson scored on a short pass from Cade. Cade got the 2 pointer. FB G. Andesorn blasted through the Cooper Defense and went 40 yards for a TD. Atkins converted shortly thereafter, and raced 44 yards for another score. The final score of the night was a 91 yard journey by HB Marc Noel with the half of a key block by Spillman. It was a perfect night for football in the Gopher Bowl at Grand Prairie when our Rockwall Yellow jackets' matched their thiry-two man squad against the high-rated Iacksboro Tigers. ' ' ' Eight-thousand fans packed the stadiumspthat Friday night to see a game which left both sides in a daze. Jacksboro struck- by us first after recovering a fumble on our own fifteen yard line. Wheelis was the player responsible for the touchdowng and Leach made it 8-0. This did not remain long. After one drive had died on the Jacks boro 14, our Jackets marched 45 yards in 5 plays with Marc Noel adding the final I tonches from the 3: Tommy Norman Cade then passed to Bobby Anderson to tie the score at 8-8. A few minutes before the end of the first half Wheelis connected with Winton on the 1. From there Wheeliscarried it across and passed to Baker to make it 16-8 at half time. A - N .
