A1 Dear Students: In my readings the other day I ran across the following: This is not a day of triumphg it is a day of dedication. Here muster, not the forces of party, but the forces of humanity, Men's hearts wait upon us: men's lives hang in the balanceg men's hopes call upon us to say what we will do, Who shall live up to the great trust? Who dares fail to try? I summon all honest men, all patriotic, all forward- looking men, to my side. God helping me, Iwill not fail them, if they will but counsel and sustain me! These words were spoken by Woodrow Wilson in his first inaugural address. Although it has been a number of years since the speech was made, the same declaration of faith in America should ever be on our hearts and lips. His friendliness and cheerfulness were treasures to all who knew him. His courtesy and co- operation was appreciated by teachers and classmates alike. No one can change the events that have happened, but all can cherish his memory.

The Class of 1963 is especially dear to me because of close personal contacts with so many of its members. I was present to welcome you as you entered high school. Remember the eagerness and joy reflected on your faces as you set out on your high school voyage. It will also be my good fortune to be present to congratulate you and wish you Godspeed on the night of Commencement. The record you are leaving at Rockwall High School will live for it is one of outstanding achievement. Your individual records would indicate that success will always be within your reach.
