I x 1 Just as these cards are familiar to every deck, so are these faces familiar to all in our school. They are to our school much the same as Jokers, Queens, Kings, and Jacks are to the card deck. Aren't we lucky? This is bad luck. It's no fun to have to sit out a ball game or stay at home. It's awful when the punch spills. And When the Window breaks, Why, you might as well have stayed at home. In fact the only thing at all lucky here is that everything can be fixed. Honor comes in many ways, but What part does luck play in suc- cess? Ask any- one on these pages. They can tell you. FIRST ROW: Treasurer, Kevin Jacks; President, Paula Swaim; Vice-President, Dave Myers; Secretary, Donna Morlan. BALL STATE ART WORKSHOP WINNERS Nancy Burdine and Jackie Dooley experienced Batik de- signing during their week at Ball State University the sum- mer of 1969 sponsored by the Federation of Womens' Clubs and Tri Kappa. GIRLS' STATE WINNER Paula Swaim travelled to Indiana University as the rep- resentative of Rockville High School. Boys' State winners were Kevin Jacks and John Bloomer who were R.H.S. representatives at Indiana State University. e r e w e r e h t $m?gena Se. L andthen there were ...well... TRICKS! Along With the coming of Spring, April brings the Junior Prom, a time when everyone and everything is at least a little beautiful. So, under a starry sky, memories were made in Moonlight and Roses . THE POST-PROM PARTY A rowdy carnival greeted the midnight revelers at the Post Prom, complete with penny toss, dart throws, a country store from a nearby town, a band, and par- ents, unrecognizable in their Bonnie and Clyde gehups. Donna Morlan and Mary Allbright present him with his silver football along with a kiss. 38 The crownng of a Homecoming Queen can take place anywhere, anytime come RAIN or shine. Just as a boy can admire a pretty girl any place or any time. THE BONFIRE Endings are only as good as their beginnings, and a good beginning always starts things off in a blaze . Even locked doors couldn't keep the Rox from their Homecoming bonfires, as Witches and fans mourned the vanquished North Vermillion Falcons. Prospects for 1970 are somewhat better with four re- turning Letterman in Tony Reader, John Hartman, Dave My- ers, and Greg Steuerwald. There are also some promising younger players in line for the spring schedule. The 1969 team consisted of Phil Pickett and Dan Stringer besides the above mentioned. 45 BASEBALL Varsity Awards: Leading Pitcher--Greg Steuerwald, Leading Hitter--Dale Teague, Most Valu- able Player--Dale Teague, Conference Awards: lst Team: Tony Reeder--Outfield, Ron Hart- man--Outfield. 2nd Team: Tom C1ary--Infield Honorable Mention: Dale Teague--Infield, Rodger Davies--Infield, John Baldwin--Outfield, Greg Steuerwald--Pitcher.
