The 1968 Rockville Cross- Country Team, being com- posed of Seniors Keith Fischer, Darrell Berry, and Jim Spencer; Juniors Mark Montgomery, Chad Willhite, Mike Gerrish, and Bob McCullough; Sopho mores Dan Butler; and Joe Gooch; and Freshman Tom Willhite, compiled a 10--5 dual meet record against many of the best teams in the Wabash Valley . The ROX were fourth in both the valley meet and in the Wabash River Conference . Darrell Berry and Keith Fischer were the outstand- ing runners: Berry was the most consistent, but Fischer had a 10--26 two mile, only 3 seconds off Steve Jefferies school record. WON--l LOST 4 t angmwwwmmww, wwww Covered Bridge Game Keeping possession of the T rophy for another year, the Rox downed the Turkey Run Warriors With the score 45--0. With the Hartmans scoring all the touchdowns tRon with six and Don with D, the Rox players proved too strong for the north side school. John Baldwin added 3 points. Ron Hartman caught the passes for 102 yards and two touch- downs. Dale Teague completed seven of 14 passes. The ROX recovered 5 Warrior fumbles. Homecoming Game Rockville vs Ladoga The ROX Homecom- ing Game, proving disaster for Ladoga, finished with a score 13 - -6. The two teams, being matched as well as any two teams could be, opened up the scoring when Teague passed to Speedy Hartman who in turn pitched to Joe Col- lings for a touch- down. The Canner's quarterback went back to pass and did pass to John Baldwin for another ROX touchdown. Dale Teague added the extra point. In the second half, the ball went back and forth. In the middle of the fourth quarter the Ladoga team scored a touch- down. Later Teague intercepted a pass just as the clock ran out--Victory for the Box. Following the crowning Winona Stout and Ruth Ann Baxter, re- presenting the Senior girls, climaxed the half time activities with the announcing of Don Hartman as Mr . Football. Complet- ing a perfect Homecoming . . . a VICTORY for the ROX . 47 Homecommgoueen Jane Heifner The Junior Prom Undergoing a complete transformation, the gymnasium becomes a summer garden to carry out the theme of the Young in Heart . In the romantic setting Queen Peggy Lashbrook and King Jim Baxter presided over the festivities. Lending their royal assistance were atten- dants, Ruth Ann Baxter With Jim Ball and Debby Sears With Danny Snodgrass . Doing the honors at the refreshment table were Gayla Gastineau, Mary Ann Golden, Rosa Lee Sears, and Melinda Davies. The TOWnsemen Band furnished the dance music. And so 12:00 comes much too early. One more Prom is tucked away in the memory file of happy times. 50 MAD MOD MARDI GRAS being the theme chosen by the hosts, Junior and Sen- ior students' parents, many exciting games were offered for participation . . Fortune Telling . . . Reach for the Stars . . and Bingo. The EXILES, attired in their Paul Re- vere outfits, furnished the music for dancing.
