The purpose of the Student COuncil is to try to bring the problems of the students and the school before the student body and the faculty, and to make decisions concerning these problems. The object of the National Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote worthy leadership, and to encourage the development of character in the pupils of Rockville High School. Candidates must have spent at least one semester at Rockville High School and must be members of the Sophomore, Junior, or Senior class. They must have and maintain an overall average of B . Their eligibility will then be based on their leadership, character and service. The members are chosen frorm the Senior Class by the previous year's staff. Our yearbook was published under the guidance of our faculty advisor, Mrs. Moscan. The information' in this book was gathered throughout the school year, and bound together this spring to make an interesting annual for each member of the student body.Be'1ng a member of the Annual Staff takes a great amount of work and effort. 46 SCHOOL PAPER STAFF Each School year the school paper, ROX HI-LITES, is published by the paper staff. All staff members must be enrolled in the advanced typing class. The paper comes out every three weeks during the school year, with occasional special editions for holidays. Each issue contains gossip, club news, student poll, announcements, sports and an editorial. The purpose of the Pep Band is to provide music at all athletic events in order to boost the spirit of the fans and the team. Its members help 1n our school library by filing cards and checking out books, besides assisting the Librarian with other duties. The Rox were ranked sixth in the Wabash Valley final standings. Awinning season is built upon many outstanding characteristics such as team work, sportsmanship, determination, self sacrifice, and many others. This year's team was highly endowed with all of these characteristics. The Rox B-team was made up of twenty-two sophomore and junior boys. They gained muchvaluable experience.
