Senior Class Prophecy Here it is - - a warm day in May. 1972: A51 drive to the RlLiW'llle High School for the reunion of the famous class of '62. I wonder what my classmates have been do- ing these ten years. forI have seen very few of them. WhenI arrive on the grounds. I cannot find a parking space between all the limou- sines and Cadillacs mm to mention the private planesl. Surely, I must be in the wrong place. But no, there is someone who looks familiar, although it is difficult to see her under that mink. Ah. she is turning this way. Well. well, if it isn't Joanne Shockley. I had heard of the great fame she achieved as an opera soprano, but somehow I wasn't expecting to see her today. Last time I heard of her she was in New York. At lastI am parked and enter the school to hang my coat 'midst the minks and er- mines. After greeting everyone, I sit down to talk to the Rockville Gazette reporter, Louise Holler. As we talk. she tells me many interesting things about dear ole class- mates. It seems Jack Norman went straight from high school to Hollywood. He soon be- came an actor and was playing opposite stars such as Elizabeth Taylor and Stephanie Cummings. I was happy to find out that Jon Warden, who was President of the United States, had finally settled his feud with the Premier of Russia. Eric Snowden. The cause of thc feud was discovered by F.B.I. agent Carol Kent. It was Eric's missing set of bongos. which he accused Jon of stealing. Jon had shown great prejudice toward his former classmates by appointing Carol Btown. Nina Nelson. Pam Van Gilder. and Lynn Mam good will ambassadors to Russia. He also made Alice Staggs his private typist after . had achieved 165 words per minute. I learned that our class had made a great contribution to the sports world. Gar Cooper was playing professional football for the Rockville Royals under coach Gen. Finney. The 1968 Olympics had found Steve Nelson and Allen Barnes breaking the worldls record in the contest. and Don Vaught took first prize in bubble-blowing. RU l l Thompson took the first three places in the weight lifting contest. but Steve Navel edged him out in the shot put. 1n the international dancing contest Phyllis Swaim had received the highest honors for her ballet dancing, and Gary Shay had won top honors doing the horse. A great contribution to the world of science was also made by our class. The noted physicist Lowell Dtagoo. along with his trusted assistant Larry Gossett. had invented an atomic tooth brush. Roy Reedy had conspired with Owen Loney. and had discovered a formula for instant algebra .
