SENIOR CLASS HISTORY During our four years of high school we seniors were very busy. Our freshman year was highlighted by winning first on our homecoming float and winning first on our skit at the Halloween Festival. Gur sophomore year was filled with nights at the ball- games and the Youth Center and with parties at each other's homes. The junior year was taken up by selling at football games and basketball games. Many were the times that more than one silly stunt took place at the stand.' The Junior- Senior Prom was the social event of the junior year. Many nights were spent in rolling crepe paperg finally came the night when we could start decorating the gym. Naturally, the climax of the big event was the crowning of the queen. Patty Pinegar received this honor with Shirley Holler and Glenda Gilderland sharing in this event. Our senior year was certainly a busy one. Announce- ments and name cards were ordered, received, and passed out. Then came ordering of our caps and gowns for baccalaureate and commencement. Only fifteen of the present students attended all of the twelve years in the Rockville schools: they are John Britton, Jim Buchanan, Alberta Busenbark, Qlenda Gilderland, U' , Billl Hobson, Irene Lawson, Judy McNTTTin, .Tim Perry, Patty Pinegar, Thelma 1?.urLc.e.Il.fl., Heaudette Seward, Bill Sowers, Ramona Timberlake, and Nancy Vandenbark. llcra Brad-Alld, semi.. JMMQ , A special thank-you is due to our senior sponser, Mr. Fred Holmes. Without his able assistance, l'm sure that the students would not have profited nearly so much as if we had not had him as sponser. Thank you, Mr. Holmes. -13- Compliments Qfq. I1 Senior Class Officers After twelve long, ardorous years of seeming endless toil, we have finally reached the ulti- mate, that of being a senior, and our long awaited for diplomas are just around the corner, almost within our tenacious grasp. We have sweat over our books, wrote themes and essays, crammed for tests and have been abused in general by such burdens shoved upon us. But now that is all be- hind us, and through these bleak recollections of all our work will shine with a radiant brilliance all the enjoyment, and pleasures that we have known and it will make the knowledge gained from a dusty textbook seem small in comparison when we evaluate the two. We mav forget how to decline nouns in Latin, how to figure out logarithms in Qeometrv, or how many men Hannibal lost when he crossed the Alps, but we shall remember vividly the dances we attended, the pep sessions, the red and vellow slips we collected, the traffic tick- ets, and the prom, which all underclassmen vearn with an impassioned longing to attend and all who attended cherish the memory above all others. Then we shall realize that the time spent was not wasted, that thev were probably the busiest years of our life, and we shall always carry deep down inside us the spirit, glorv, and prestige of old Rockville High School! -'14- Compliments Of: Bonomo's Store
