Ulmer, N. Hcath, A. May. M-V-L GIRLS' BASKETBALL CHAMPIONS Having lost the league championship to Union High School last year, thc Rockport Beaverettes worked hard to claim once again the title of Champions of the Medomak Valley League. This was accomplished. but not with the facility that we had anticipated. Our record for the season stood at ten wins and six losses. The forward trio consisted of Judy Young, Gail May, and co-captain Dot Ulmer. Backing them were Debbie Hanna. Nancy Young. and Linda-Jane Barrows. The guard section was made up of co- captain Toppy Frye, Ruth Anne Erickson, and Norma Heath. Seconding them were Gerry Pound. Barbara Smith, Linda Turner, and Sandra Morton. Our next yearls team will feel the results of the graduation of many of our first string players. These are: Toppy Frye, Norma Heath, Gail May and Judy Young. The two remaining players will be pushed for positions by many promising players who faithfully attended practices this year. Suddenly it leaped into the air, came down, glided smoothly a short distance, leaped into the air-up again, down again. A startled traffic officer signaled Keith to the curb. What's the matter with this car? he demanded. N-nothing sir, replied Keith. I've got the hiccups! GONE BUT NOT FORGOTTEN A kindhearted farmer told Basil Robinson, whose load of hay had overturned in the road, to forget his troubles and come in and have dinner with his family. There would be time enough to right the hay rack after a good meal. Basil demurredg he said he didn't think his father would like it. But the farmer persisted and won. Af- ter the meal, Basil said he felt better and he expressed his appreciation of the hospi- tality. At the same time he was sure his father wouldn't like it. Nonsense, said the host. By the way why are you so worried about your father? He's under the hay! said Basil.
