In September 1940, thirty seven Freshmen entered the portals of Grandview High School They were green and were usually in the wrong room, however, they graduallv became accustomed to the daily routine and everything ran emo thly and evenly During the year 1940 '41, the class lost several members At the beginning of the second semester, B1ll'Pedd1cord decided school was too hard and he ouit Ruby Agen thought married life more intere tins than an educationl Minnie Beasley left our school to attend school at Chrisney and Mary Hempfling left toe attend Tell City' During the year, they gained a new member, Bill Kirk, who came from Elleteville. Class officers were elected as follows Bernard Smith, President: Eva Stotler, Vice president, and Norma Underhill, Secretary-treasurer TeVault was chosen as sponsor 4In.September 1941, twenty eight Sophomores filed back into the class rooms of Grandview High School Some members did not return this year, namely: Goldie Sims, Elva Haaf, and Har- old Laymon. Class officers were elected as fol- lows: Bernard Smith, Presidentg Eva Stotler, Vice-president: Norma Underhill, Secretaryg and B111 Kirk, Treasurer. Mr. Anderson was chosen as class sponsor. Norma Underhill was also chosen as basketball Queen for this year.
