This was the first day of their Freshman year in high school at Grandview. The class officers of that memorable year were: President, Ruth Mills ,vice president, Nellie Russell secretary, Lester Price, treasurer, Dorris Byrne Sponsor Mr Jenkins A few of the members decided that they d1dn't want to go to school, and some of them were un able to continue because of circumstances Others moved to other schools There were fifteen pupils in all Flo Rice, Lee Peddlcord, Ruth Mills, Rosalie Cokley, Lester Price, Anna Zogleman, Helen Mott ler, Della Killian, Clarence Wqgdruff, Deloris Smith, Irene Chapman, Earl Masterson, Marjorie Chapman, Parley Huser, and Elizabeth Russell The following year 1959 and 1940 the class officers were President, Kathleen Howland, vice president, Nellie Russell, secretary and treasurer, Eileen Adye Sponsor, Mrs Tremper Three more pupils decided that school wasn for them, this year They were , Nellie Russell, Kenneth Rust, Ruth Pierce Cleta Strobel from Troy entered our class this year In '40 we were Jolly Juniors and Jolly we real ly were G H S is really the school for fun , At least, every one but William, Newton thought .
