OF CUNTENTS FACES ACADEMICS 29 ACTIVITIES SPORTS THO GHTS 83 The '76-'77 school year at Rockmont has seen growth in many ways. Among them, construction began on a new wing and aca- demics reached a new horizon with Associ- ate Arts degrees being offered. Dr. L. David Beckman became Rock- mont's President in 1963 when it was located in Longmont. In 1966, the col- lege's present site was found and it moved the next year. Dr. Beckman has maintained high per- sonal standards for the college by employ- ing a very able staff despite financial diffi- culties and low enrollment. The staff is not competent only in their profession, but also provide advice and spiritual counseling for the students. With love, the Yearbook Staff wishes to dedicate this book to Dr. Beckman for his contributions to the growth of Rockmont. -.,,,,-G Bqt speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things Eph. 4:15 Dr. L. He gave a message on raising children God's way, dating relationships, and communication with other people . K The man with the mellow voice heard on the Nightsounds radio broadcast, Bill Pierce, appeared in concert at Rockmont this year. The evening's performance was enjoyable, with something for almost everyone. It ranged from soothing, sacred songs to a technically difficult, jazzy ren- ditition of Joshua Fit de Battle of Jeri- cho. Mr. Pierce both sang and played the trombone, and all for the Lord. It was a truly pleasant experience . A flourishing cadenza, and then softly . . . How Can I Say Thanks . . . To God Be The Glory. The concert was unforgettably moving as God ministered through two of His most talented servants. Monsieur Ardin, The imaginary invalid, is a thorough-going hypo- chondriac. His daughter, Angeli- que, is in love with a young man by the name of Cleante. But Ardin insists that she shall marry a man of his choosing, the son of a doctor and a doctor himself, Thomas Defois. Toinette, the maid, and Beralde, Ardin's brother, do everything possi- ble to dissuade Ardin in his determi- nation to marry Angelique to the stupid Thomas. They are fond of Angelique, and, to further her cause and clinch her affair with Cleante, they ridicule Ardin. The play ends as Monsieur Ardin becomes an imaginary doctor and agrees to the marriage of Cleante and Angelique. 50's DA Y . ? They spent most of every week- end singing at churches, banquets, schools, and Kiwanis Clubs. The year was highlighted by two tours. They toured Kansas and Nebraska, eventually ending up at Leavenworth Prison, sing- ing to the inmates there. This five-day mini-tour was followed by a ten-day tour, June 9-19. This tour was to California, includ- ing a morning concert, June 14, at Disneyland. Each of these tours was ventured on in faith. God mightily supplied all of their needs. This year Joy Express experienced how to trust upon God, completely for all its needs. I-Ie provided better than their greatest expectations . The Bikathon was spon- sored by the Ski Team in effort to raise funds for next year's team . The route covered a dis- tance of fifty miles over varied terrain, and a free lunch was provided for its participants . .WKAI X BIKA THO , 1 it 'Q' Wiwwdmm-M f 3? ii . . .
