THE STUDENT COUNCIL Standing: Gene Wood, president of the student body: Harry Price, president oi Senior Class: Eugene Neal. president of Sophomore Class: Betty Hoeksema, treasurer oi student body. Seated: Margaret VanderPloeg, secretary oi student body: William Keiry, vice- president ol student body: Lloyd Bartz. president oi Iunior Class: Deroy Hubbard, presi- dent ol Freshman Class. The Student Council is the spokesman tor the student body. lt tries to encourage school spirit, cooperation, and a deeper spiritual lite among the students. lt also seeks to promote mutual understanding between the faculty and the student body. The Council was active during the tirst Week of school, meeting the new students and helping them to become oriented. This year Council members have been busy making posters tor the chapel and halls, rearranging the curtains in the chapel, conducting a clean-up week project, and sponsoring the annual May-time banquet.
