S E ,,, As you turn the pages of this yearbook I sincerely hope that many pleasant memories will come back to you. I have enjoyed helping to preserve these remembrances for you. I appreciate the help I have received from the staff, the student body, and the faculty. May all the memories you acquire along 1ife's pathway be as happy as those we have woven together in Old Rockland School. Mary Hayes, Editor O O Through the years we have all had the assistance of our parents. Without their constant help, guidance, patience, and understanding we could not attain our goals in Life. To them we owe our gratitude for helping each one of us on 1ife's way. To those who have loved us all through the years, With patience, and calmness to sooth our fears, Who gave us guidance from the day of our birth, And sheltered and clothed us by working the earth, As constant companions all through the years, They gave us their love, devotion, and tears, Many more years will go by, And they will continue to cherish us till they die. To our patents we proudly dedicate the 1958-59 Bulldog with love and appreciation. Editor - MARY HAYES Assistant Editor - DONNIE KRESS REVA RALPH3 Advisor - MRS. 'Senior Ball was one of the highlights of our Senior year and was every- thing we hadralways wanted it to be as we danced amid 'Autumn Leaves' on October 24. 'Ted Sulliban's Variety Show, what a ball we had trying to produce thatl But on November 22, we put on a good show complete with commercials. Gerald Chadbourne was master oft ceremonies with all of the Senior Class and visiting talent taking part. Basketball season was great. We had everything we could have wished for and lots more. The mighty Bulldogs were on top all the way. Our Senior sneak was probably the most memorable event of our Senior year. For we truly had a wonderful time enjoying ourselves and being able to be with one another knowing that it was one of the last times we would be to- gether as a class. Graduation seemed far away at first but before we knew lt, it was upon us and we were walking down the aisle to the strains of Pomp and Clrcumstance ' amid the scent of sweet smelling roses and lllacs. Dimly we could see the look of mingled pride and sadness on the faces of our parents and relatives as we took our places for the last time as the 'Class of 1959. Our sponsor, Mrs. Vlolet B. Butler, is one person who we will remember and cherish all the days of our lives. For it is she who gave us a goal in life, telling us we would 'Never Walk Alone. This was a costume party, held October 31. Everyone was dressed in a costume and a prize was given for the best one. We played games and danced. Afterwards we served Halloween cookies and cider. The class play, There Go The Grooms, a three-act comedy, was held February 25. There were four of the class participating and remainder of the cast was picked from the Sophomore and Senior Classes. March 27 was the Junior Prom. This was truly one of the biggest and best dances of the year. The theme for the dance was Oriental Gardens. It was decorated very differently with Japanese and Chinese ideas. The dance was a big success, thanks to the help of our sponsor, Mrs. Williams. DONNIE KRESS Take care of meg good men are rare. October 11 the Freshman and Sophomore Barn Dance was held. The theme was Old MacDona1d's Farm. During the Christmas holidays we had a class party. We attended a show in Pocatello. Some of our parents and our sponsor, Mr. Williams, accom- panied us. As a money making project this year the class sold candy. The money received goes toward our Senior Sneak. The grls must have high scholastic ratings, good personalities, some talent, and lea- dership ability. The week ls spent learning about city, county and state government. Each girl has a chance to hold an office if she so desires. However. competition is very stiff and the girls must be prepared to do their very best. It is a week well spent and each girl attending certainly remembers the wonderful opportunities Syringa Girls' State offered them. X XX mx... -gmt iv. v IA 'K 1 fi . . I .. 3 1 ,..,. ,i .i.
