H. S., have cast shadows upon our youthful spirits. It is our sincere hope that our legatees will accept these bequests in the same spirit of humility which which we grant them. I, Linda McDonald, will the Ford station wagon to my sister, Ginger, in hopes that she won't have the accident I had. I, Robert Dobbins, leave my love for Coach Beam to Sandy McRae. I, Martha Dawkins, solemnly will a well- worn Folder -545 to Joan Haigler, hoping that she will enjoy accompanying the R.H.S. Chorus. 4 I, Barbara Watters, will to Tad William- son my ability to blush about almost anything. I, Anne Johnson, will everything I have to anybody who wants it and thinks he can get it. I, Suzanne Ellerbe, will all those grand Senior privileges to next year's Seniors. I, Tommy Covington, will my ability to get away with anything in the library to my card-playing buddies, Ace and Olen, I, Carol Lackey, will my seat at the back of the band bus to anyone who can qualify for the Little Imps' Club. We, Earl Ayers, Roie Ludlum, and Leslie Bradshaw, being lfor once? of sound mind, hereby will to Lewis Franklin our ability to cultivate hair on the top of the head and our good credit standing at Bunch's. I, Peggy Yates, will to Gloria Baxley my ability to keep Penelope in line. I, Charles Gillis, will my ability to get in and out of trouble to John Paschal. I, Doris Moore, hereby will my happy moments in chemistry to Judy Kiker, hoping she gallops through unsinged and unscarred and at the some rate of speed that I did. I, John Cargill, leave my alarm clock to all the inmates of detention hall. I, Margie Boan, being of feeble body and questionable sanity, do hereby will my eyes to Mrs. McRae, because she was always asking for them. I, Peggy Stevenson, will and bequeath my naturally curly blond hair to Doris Hinson so that she won't have to worry with those nightly pin-ups during her exciting Senior year. I, Robert Coleman, leave all my speed- ing tickets to Allan Miles. I, Glenn Tadlock, will my seat in Mrs. London's Shorthand 2 class to any boy who enjoys feminine companionship. I, Edwin Cox, being of sound mind and body, do hereby leave to Olen Smith my ability to get off as many classes as I wish. I, Asa Lassiter, leave my manly physique to Malcolm Lear. I, Doyle Haigler, do hereby will old bus number 3 to some level-headed boy who will watch the road instead of the good-looking girls. I, Ellen McCaskiIl, leave to the Juniors a bottomless tark of mid-night oil to be used in studying for twelfth English tests. I, Penny Baxley, do hereby will to Ted Anderson my love for blue Buicks. I, Margaret Ann McNair, will my seat in shorthand and typing to Hazel Webb. I, Pat Smith, leave to Jennie Wall Currie one well worn B flat clarinet with the sincere hope that she can make the F come out better. lContinued on Page 92? CLASS PRCPHECY On this day of June 2, l987, Channel RHS-TV presents This ls Your Life, brought to you by Tired Blood. Friends, do you suf- fer from Geritol? lf you do, run right down to E. R. Cox Drug Store and get your bottle of Tired Blood today. Druggist Cox can sup- ply your every need, having recently discov- ered a cure for which there is no known di- sease. And now, here's that man himself, our master of ceremonies, Tom Live lt Up Covington. Good evening, Folks, tonight we bring you the life of the Class of '57. Thirty years ago, in l957, one hundred and seven hopeful Seniors graduated from R.H.S. Today they are scattered all over the earth lthank good- nessll We are about to bring some of the world renowned figures into our studio. Through the cooperation of CargiIl's Inter-Planetary Space Travel, it is possible to do this. First of all, l'm gonna tell you a story 'bout . . . uh . . . Mary Lou lAIlen, that isl who is running a beauty saloon. Her barmaids are Joyce Welch and Rachel Morris, with Louis Coward serving as head bouncer. We also have with us Calvin and Lavell Anderson, who have gone into business with Catherine Infinger, combining Winn-Dixie and A8.P stores, and who are operating at their new location near Haigler's Race Track. Doyle could not attend the program tonight, for he is attending the race between the 'Ter- ror Trio,' Gibbs, Gillis, and Coleman. Also in the studio this evening is Peggy Yates. Peggy has just charmed another snake. Due to lack of cages, she uses cribbs, thus she has Snake Cribbs. lncidentally, she calls her newest pet Robert. Tonight we are honored to have with us two distinguished members of the sports world, and here they are -- hey, you two, get out of the way, we're on the air! lPlease do not confuse those two characters with the actors. They are only Crouch and Rohleder, the stage crew.l Now, where were we? Oh, yes, and here they are-'Goose' McNair and 'Jelly Bean' Smith, recent members of the Basketball Hall of Fame. Can you girls give the young girls in our audience any advice on how to become members of the Basketball Hall of Fame? What is your advice, Goose' Wal, uh, Ah tink. . . uh . . . tha best way tuh become uh member uh da Basketball Hall uh Fame is . . . tuh play basketball. Thank you, 'Goose'. In our audience tonight we have the Board of Directors of the Hound Dog Trailways Bus Company. Gentle- men, will you stand as I call your names: James Brigman, Robert Dobbins, Paul Gibson, Jim Ormsby, James Dawkins, and Jim Webb. lt has just been reported that two mem- bers of this class, Ann Martin and Ethel Holder, have just received the Nobel Prize in physics. Also we should mention that Bill Las- siter has won the same prize in the field of physiques. We are sorry these folks could not be with us this evening. iContinued on Page H23 YOUR ACTIVITIES Have you ever marched in a pep parade Till your legs were macaroni? We have a bulletin here: will Dr. Bar- bara Watters please report to the hospital im- mediately. George Ewing is on the critical list, his father found him drinking . . . Coca-Cola. lt is our pleasure next to introduce you to Heather McCracken, who, assisted by Margie Boan, Peggie Currie, and Lenora Mc- Caskill, is now head librarian at the Metro- politan Library. Miss McCracken has dele- gated most of her responsibilities to her assist- ants while she spends her entire time as cus- todian of the Lost and Found room. She finds that in recent years her talents lie more in this direction. Will the Board of Directors of the Hound Dog Bus Company please sit down, the people behind you can't see. l have just been given word that Carol Haywood, head usher, is having trouble with Darrell Ussery, Jerry Goodman, and Junior Farris on the back row. They are complaining of the poor sound system. Carol has explained that our sound is produced by the Baxley sys- tem, this explanation seems to have satis- fied the gentlemen. We take this opportunity to remind you that these are the three athletes who majored in sports at Charles E. Horse University. Having suffered from athlete's foot for four years, they were made joint re- cipients of the Absorbine, Jr. award. Now I would like to present Edward Hawkins, inventor of the Nip-Digit machine, Suzanne Ellerbe, bird cage cleaner, Betty Jo Howington, stilt acrobat, and Mary Lee Terry, nurnerologist, coming in an hour late. While ushers, Julia Ballard and Glennie Brigman, are seating these people, Martha Dawkins will play Beethoven's Fifth Symphony and Mary Hunter will sing the lyrics. fAt this point, not being able to endure this high class music, Gail Jenkins and Johnny Jones, Gene Lynch and Ellen McCaskiIl spring into the aisles and begin a rock and roll show of their own. The ushers finally have to ask policewoman, Mary Hines, to expel them from the theater.l Now, let's get on with our show. The Smith Construction Company, headed by Jean Smith, Margaret Smith, and Pat Smith, have just completed a Rock and Roll Coliseum with a seating capacity of 500,000. Their chief ar- chitects were Linda McDonald and Randy Parker. Bobby Whitted's band, the Crazy Whits, are booked for opening night. Some of his performers are Charlotte Rainwater, who plays a crazy sax, Hot Charlie Munn and his clarinet, Fingers O'Neal and her piano, and last, but by no means least, Davy Long and his red-hot drums. From another corner of the musical world, we have learned that Jerry Thomas has retreated to South Africa with his bongo drurns. He keeps saying, 'l wish somebody would tell me where l am.' l have just been requested by our sec- retary, Janella Morris, to announce that there CLASS PRCDPHECY will be a national shorthand speedwriting con- test between -Glenn Tadlock and Norma Spen- cer immediately following the show. Jimmy Clayton, Charles Clarke, and Harold Coble will sell ice-cream during the intermission and Mickey Cain will referee the match. We have some more honored guests in our studio audience tonight-the famous lady wrestling team, Barbara Blackwell, Sarah Col- lins, Doris Moore, and Faye Dycus. They are managed by Lloyd Simmons and Ramsey Tay- lor. In the balcony we have Martha Snead and Peggy Stevenson, the champion hog-callers from lowa. They practice daily on hogs be- longing to farmer Larry Gardner. Down front is Jane Porter, who translates shorthand for Clyde Osborne, the ambassador to Southern Mongolia. Also present is Reid Gryder, leading a group of Boy Scouts, the group having just returned from a mushroom-identifying expe- dition. Peering from the balcony are Helen Flowers and Priscilla Fritz. They have recent- ly returned from an exploring expedition to the Congo. There they found Dr. Ruth Webb, who had been stranded in the jungle. They brought back the rare 'otti oogla for Nancy Moore, who collects them for the American Museum of Natural History. Before signing off, I must present to you a group of late arrivals. Just entering the studio is Leslie Bradshaw, band director, whose musicians have received much recognition for their superb rendition of 'Flight of the Boll Weevil'. Making up the brass section lcom- posed entirely of spittoonsl were Donald Prince, Marley Long, Roy Ludlum, and Earl Ayers. Also present are Ervin Lampley and Jim Ritchey, owners and operators of The Saint Bernard Terrace, Rockingham's most exclusive hot-dog stand. They are accompan- ied by Harry West, who recently perfected a fool-proof burglar alarm. Unfortunately, the device was stolen from him. These three men are escorting three lovely ladies who have reached the top in theatrical circles. Hazel Smith is working with a circus and is billed as 'Elasta', the rubber lady with the two-way stretch. Her health, however, is not too good, she's bothered with a slow leak. Hazel's co- worker is Selma Gardner, fire eater. Selma had a nerve-wracking experience not long ago. She hicupped three bonfires and set fire to a small group of friends. Also in the group is Billie Butler, sword swallower. Billie now swallows umbrellas, she believes in putting something away for a rainy day. Now we wish to recognize our production staff, all members of the Class of '57. This Is Your Life is directed by Johnsie White: make- up is by Geraldine Gillis. Floor manager is Carol Lackey: assistant director Barbara Pe- gram: producer, Ada Shepard: and technical advisor, Phyllis Gregory.
