.L-Zbeakcalfiolfz, Evidences of self government are to be seen everywhere in Rock- ingham High Schoolfin our class meetings, in the central oflicers Whom We elect to serve as our leaders, and in the student committees who care for the buildings and grounds. We see the ideals of self government in the friendship between students and faculty members, in the cooperative spirit which backs the efforts of the central officers, and in the pride which bids us abide by the rules We have made. We see its principles at Work in the friendly associations on the campus at lunch time and in the good sportsmanship displayed at athletic contests. It is Written on the face of every student because he is a part of it. By the publication of this record of our high school days, we Wish to honor those students who, in 1922, formed our first consti- tution and the hundreds of students since that time, who, in upholding this constitution, have set an example for other schools in North Carolinag and to pay tribute to those ideals of self government which have sent forth scores of men and Women to be leaders in our com- munity. We wish to dedicate our 1948 Rocket to the ideals and principles of student cooperative government.
