They opened the season with a patriotic concert entitled Portraits in Musicf' Spring brought a more modern sound with a Pop Concert featuring a battle of the bands between class com- bos. A final concert previewed the bandls contest and band festival numbers. Complimenting the concert band were various small SGUNDS OF MUSIC groups composed of a wide variety of students from the in- strumental department. These included pep band which played at basketball games and pep meets, marching band which performed at football games and a stage band. Also involved in the department were other small groups and sol ists. The band completed its season on June 1 1, by partici- pating in the North Iowa Band Festival. Stage Band-Row 1: C. Brandau, K.
