Learning the importance of good English in everyday use is the primary goal of this department. In sophomore English the importance of reading good books was continually stressed throughout the entire course. The elements that make a good term paper, and the criti- cal analysis of a novel was the main purpose of Junior English. The importance of communications was learned in Comm. Skills by applying the techniques of reading, writing, speaking, lis- tening, and observing. Due to the hard-working teachers we are successfully prepared for what the future holds. H WORLD Mr. Michael Henry, teacher of math and world history, shows the world. MATH-The aims of the mathematic courses in RSH are to encourage the student to apply knowledge learned to in- dustry, business, the trades, and medicine. Courses offered are algebra ll and Ill, geometry, calculus, and trigonometry. HOME EC.-Domestic skills are an important factor in a young woman's life. Home Ec. develops skills in the girls at RSH. These include cooking, sewing, food preparation and baby care. Mrs. Bernice Crimmings, Home Economics. Mr. William Lapitz sorts Spanish literature books. SPANISH-The aim of the Spanish Department may be divided into four parts: providing for the progressive devel opment of the learner's power to understand a spoken lan- guage, to express himself orally in it, to read the language, and to employ the language in written form within the ran of his ability. Both Spanish I and Spanish ll are aided in these areas by a complete language lab used to record drills and to listen for errors immediately. I , mrs .
