A To Hold First 9-’60 Meeting The first meeting of thc Rockford P. T. A. will be held Thursday evening. September 3 at 8:00 o’clock in the School Cafeteria. Officers for this year are Mr. Ralph Nave, President; Mrs. James Zizelman, Vice-President; Mrs. Thorsen Hinkle, Secretary; and Mrs. Homer Koontz, Treasurer. The theme for the September meeting is ‘‘Get Acquainted With Your P. T. A. Friends”. ROCKFORD - Rockford High School’s chapter of the Future Homemakers of America presided at chapel Wednesday, that began the School’s last session before Christmas vacation. Jonell Lloyd accompanied the group singing of the opening song. ‘‘Joy to the World,’’ following a scriputural passage read by Frances Gephart. After the silent prayer, several carols were presented by the Girls’ Ensemble with Esther Sea-well at the piano. Vocalists comprising the ensemble are Anita Rhoades. Judy Stevens, Judy Bricker, Sharon Fleming, Jonell Uovd. Wilma Fast. Loretta Gra- ham, Marge Shaffer, and Joyce Deitsch. Rev. Loren Hoch, pastor of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Hope-well Township, chose for his ser-mon the subject. Our Christmas Gift.’ and the student body closed the service with the carol. Silent Night’. Following the chape! for the high school students, a second sermon was presented by Rev. Hoch for the pupils of grades one through six. In the afternoon children in the elementary grades were feted to gift exchanges, parties, and treats from Santa Claus. School was dismissed Dec. 23 at 3 p.m , and will reconvene on
