Mr. Robert Boyer listening to current events. This is a part of his American History class. Every Monday the students each give a current event. In this way they not only learn their history, but they know what the situation is in the world. Mr. Thomas Weeda has two classes of government. The students learn about the senators, how taxes are used, and, in general, how our government is run. It is very interesting to discover how the govern- ment systems differ from state to state. Mr. Sam Benham teaches two classes of senior government. It is very interesting to learn exactly how our governmental system is run and operated. During the course of the year each student is required to write a term paper on some phase of government. Mr. Sam Goodman is seen here in one of his world history classes. This has been a very good class to prepare students for college and future years. They learn the customs of ancient Rome and other countries of Europe.

It is through this course that many students have learned how to address large groups of people. The diction and speaking habits are improved along with constant speeches which have to be given as a means of practice. Mrs. Lila Boyer has two Spanish classes. Everyone enioys learning about the customs of Spanish-speaking countries. Although most of the time is spent in learning verbs and their coniugations, everyone still finds it interesting. lt seems to give everyone a sort of self-satisfaction to have accomplished a foreign language. Mrs Lucille Brown is seen here teaching Latin to a group of students. lt is a very good language to take because many of our English words are derived from it and it helps us to understand their meanings. Along with the basic Latin, many historical facts are taught.

Mrs. Myrna Harger is kept busy with all of the library work outside the library as well as inside. Throughout the year she visits many English classes and explains the system of our library to the students. It is very helpful to be able to find any in- formation that you may want especially when the classes are writing term papers. He taught Latin I and tenth grade English, everything from Latin coniugations to auto- biographies. Mrs. Lucille Young is teaching in one of her two bookkeeping classes. Along with the regular classroom studies, there are many outside proiects which her students must complete. This class has prepared many students for future work in business ofifices. Mr. Fred Schultz is in one of his several art classes. It is here that his students learn the fundamentals of drawing. They begin with elementary paintings and eventually work up to some of the most difficult.
