Our years in high school are a unique few in the course of our lives. And here at Rockford, each year has its own events that set it apart from all others. This year - the year we had a championship football team - the year we really felt the growing pains as our enrollment increased but the building did not. Will we ever forget the spirit of enthusiasm shown by each student and faculty member, the co-operation among all the members of the Rockford High School Co-operative Association? Hardly! Yes, we can truly say that it is with a song in our hearts that the 1958-59 year will remain - ever-wrapped in the warm glow of friendliness and unity that makes R.H.S. what it is. Now let us turn the pages and re-live those moments of 58-59 and remember each person we were akin to during those now-past months. l Leo Eby has been seen in this room for 'Smarty years. His main ambition is to get his Junior High students interested in mathe- matics. He not only teaches the principle of numbers but also keeps the pupils inter- ested with news of the day and facts that he has found to be worthwhile. Mr. Stanley McBride is helping students in his eighth hour advanced algebra class. This is quite traditional because the course has proved to be a little difficult at times. Mr. McBride's method of teaching has taught his many students the understanding of higher mathematics. Guidance 1- Interest Mr. Tom Baer has taught his geometry students the fundamentals of this course. His subiect has been of great value to many students who have learned good iudgment and sensible reasoning. Along with drawing constructions they must memorize the many theorems that are presented throughout the book. Mr. Jim DeRyke can be found in this room several times throughout the day. Here he is teaching his students the ideas behind mechanical drawing. They have learned haw to use the many instruments required for this course and have also learned how to put an idea down on paper.
