Members of the court this year were: Barbara Benham, Nancy Fisher, Carolyn Seelman. Nancy Koning, Patricia Otto, Bonda Goble. Donna Brodowski, and Kathy Marrison, Queen. The annual ceremony was held during the halftime of the Rockford-Sparta football game with Queen Katy being crowned. Following the game, a homecoming dance was held in the high school gym. Iames Farmer was crowned King with Iohn Krause, Bill Herrington, David Dagley, and Mike Otterbacher on the king's court. Although the Rams only won half of their games, they were beaten only twice by more than one touch- down. The Rams probably played their hardest game in their loss to East Grand Rapids. The Rockford fans were proud of our boys, but our team went home sad, because they had made up their minds they were going to win. The East game just shows the spirit that our team did have. We only lost eight seniors this year, and we all think Rockford will have another team to be proud of next year. The track turnout this spring isn't the largest in the league by far, but the boys seem to have a lot of desire. Last year we finished third in the league standings, and everyone is working hard to finish right up towards the top again this year. Tennis seems to be on the up-swing at Rockford. Last year's team finished fourth, and with a large turnout this spring, chances ot improving look good. Rockford has all but one of the last year's team members back, and with the added experience it looks as if Rockford might be up towards 'fhe top of the heap.
