Glee Club The lee Club IS composed of about tb1rty erght mem bers, both boys and grrls There also are separate dlV1 sxons of bovs and gxrls for sectronal practxce The Glee club sang at the concert on Apr1l 18 Mxss Drngle was the rnstructor untxl March, then she gave up her Job to Mr Vanderwall because of xllness BAND AND ORCHESTRA The Rockford High Qchool Band consxsts of thzrty four members prcked from the grade school and the htgh school Frve new people were added at the end of the frrst semester The 1hStTumQhtOt1Ch rncludes trumpets, trombones, sousaphone, flute, clarrnets, saxophone, and drums The orchestra 15 also composed of grade school and hrgh school people The rnstruments IH xt are strlngs, flute, clarrnets saxophone, trumpets and a sousaphone On the erghteenth of Aprxl the band orchestra, and glee club along wrth the batons, gave therr annual concert under the d1rect1on of Mr Vanderwall The concert was a great success RHYTHM BAND The rhythm band consrstxng of all fzrst and second grade students rs reorganrzed each year as the begrnners ar rxve and the former second graders move on, Mrs Carter Jeanne fonder 15 the student leader At the Mothers' Tea, regularly grven by the prxmary grades each sprrng, the band played three numbers Dancxng Lesson, Jolly Coppersnrth March, and Ace of Dzamonds TAPPING CLAQQ Tne last school semester has kept many of the younger cr1ldren rn darrng the noon hours to take themr tapp1ng les son Members of Betty pooner's class are Ann Marte Sul lrvan, who 15 taklng more advanced work, Kaye Royce, Mary Lou Lunde n, Warxlyn Gohlman, Lrleen and Axleen Schauf, Inga Myron, Algene Jansan, and Patty Qpooner baseball claimed four of the boys who started out wzth the classes, Ivan Wrllmschen oeorge ara MIITOH Pratt, and Donnxe Spooner The chrldren learned several dancesand ended the semes ter wrt? a short program for thexr mothers G , U. v . - .
