18 Homecoming HOME OMING '85 Homecoming took on a new twist in 1985 as Social Board set out with one goal: to raise spirit throughout the campus. Competition between complexes helped achieve this goal. Water relays, a banana eating contest, a pool tournament, tricycle races, and a tug-o-war provi- ded study break excuses throughout the week. Dress- up days during the week included:Hang-Loose Hawaiian Day, Toast to the Regents, Purple and White Day, and Hats Off to the Regents. Thursday night Coach Glon auctioned off pairs of soccer players. Prices ranged from 53.00 to S26.00. These slaves were subjected to such activities as floor mopping, dish washing, sign painting, and dusting. The Bonfire on Friday night was a success despite the rain. The pom pom squad and the cheerleaders per- formed after the rookie soccer players sang Junior Bird- man. The Homecoming King and Queen, Bob McClus- key and Carolyn Munda, led the snake dance up to the tent to watch pie throwing and the belching contest. Saturday morning was filled with events which includ- ed the Miller car push, the alumni game, and the spirit parade. The soccer team defeated UW-Platteville in front of bleachers full of spirited students. At half-time Cum- mings and Kent were announced as co-winners of the spirit week contest. Hands Off played at the Homecoming Dance to end a fabulous week of spirit and fun. QL 'lang' 1- . A Cummings' tug-o-war team pulled its way to a victory. Amr-W' .
