Every school must have its moments of purely academic formality. And yet the members of the R. C. Faculty are also known in many other lights. Take the varsity-Faculty basketball game. That proved that profs. at R. C. are even more than human. They like to give a gal a lift down town, invite her to tea, or help her with her problems. They help the senior class raise much-needed funds when they allow themselves to be auctioned otf at the senior carnival to do everything from baking cakes to serving breakfast in bed. We on the R. No, not really, and those lew extra dollars that it brings really come in handy. But waitressing isn't the only job at Roclclord that's lun. There are the switchboard operators, the service deslc workers, the student receptionists, and the library and otlice assistants. C. ln Fact all holidays are usually gay here. First comes October Day when everyone gets outdoors lor a day oi picnics, hikes, Sports, or just loafing. Thanks- giving dinner ior the girls who stay at school is made a gala affair with every trim- ming imaginable. At Christmas the Freshmen decorate the halls and waken everyone with carols. At the same season comes a Glee Club concert Followed by the tra- ditional wassail party in Middle Hall. Mid-semester vacation finds a group each year at lron Mountain, Michigan, for a thrill-packed ski trip. C. its well-supplied book-shelves and staclcs more than amply provide us with reading material, and the spacious rooms, large fireplaces, and comfortable chairs are conducive to study. We remember the library for other things as well-its Boolf Fairs, the Book Contest exhibit, and Mrs. Berry's teas. We're really grateful for the well-equipped study car on our train through Roclclord.
