Last year ' s squad was one of the best track teams that we have had in recent years. They Cook first in the District Meet and third at the State Meet in Rawlins. In the District Track Meet. Rock Springs was closely contested by the Green River Wolves, but the Tigers showed their never- say-die spirit and decided the meet by placing second in the relay. Bean. Beveridge, and Barker placed for the Tigers by taking firsts in the low hurdles and in the high jump. Bean placed second in the high hurdles. Collins, who ran his best race of the year, took first in the mile run. with Buchan a close second. Jew, a freshman, took first in the broad jump and second in the high jump. Other point winners for R. S. were: Barker, third in the 100. fourth in the 220; Morrow, fifth in the 100 and 220; Blacker tied for third in the pole vault: Baldridge took fourth in the 440; Harris placed fourth in the half mile, and Yerkovich placed third in the discus. In the State Meet. Casper won first with a total of 44 points, and Rock Springs gained 36 points. Bean again scored for the team by placing second in the high jump and high hurdles, third in the low hurdles, and first in the broad jump. Buchan took first in the mile, and Collins placed third. Taylor placed fifth in the 100. and Beveridge placed sixth. Blacker tied for third in the pole vault. Collins.
