MRS. MARTHA H. BAKER ; October 16, 1963 Dear Seniors, Please accept my deep appreciation for the many surprises and kindnesses of my last day at school. The delicious food at the parties, the beautiful gift, the well-chosen card. The rose, the precious letter and signatures, and your thoughfulness in planning all of this--everything simply emphasized what you have meant to me through the years. I pray that strength and wisdom will be given you, all your teachers, and your senior sponsor as you face the strenuous, busy days and months ahead. Sincerely, Martha Baker

Oe Dedicate Searching for humility. Seeking for char- acter. Looking for Christianity. We found a combination of all the fine qualities that make aperson outstanding as a teacher and friend of the students. At Rock Springs, she did much to instill in all who sat in her classes those traits which will be most desirable as a student and, later, in adult life. As an English teacher, characters in literature became living souls. A greater insight was gained to the fact that 'Good English should be spoken and written. Her understanding, patience, and wisdom were her greatest assets as sponsor of the Rock Springs High School Student Council. Her ideals of character were always portrayed in the plays which she selected for presentation by the senior class. Mrs. Baker, we the senior class of 1964, want to thank you for all the guidance and help you have given us the past four years. We shall always remember you with fondness and wish you much happiness in the future. We sincerely dedicate THE ROSPHIAN of 1964to our former high school teacher, Mrs. Martha H. Baker.

SCIENCE Science is very important in our world to- day. Courses offered in our high school are general science, biology, chemistry and phy- sics. General science is an introductory course in the field of science. In biology class, the students like to disect worms and frogs. Here, the chemistry class is seen making hydrogen. ENGLISH Students are given an opportunity to make a thorough study of grammar for personal and professional use. Shakespeare, Sandburg, Frost, Wilder, and Chaucer are some favorite authors of out- standing literature which they learnto apprec- iate. Anadvanced course in English, which con- sists mainly of creative writing, is offered this year to college preparatory students. In the picture, Mrs. White is shown help- ing Jeanne Walkup with a composition.
