HOME ECONOMICS Girls take home economics that they may be better prepared for their future as wives and mothers. They learn to sew, cook, and serve meals. Also they study family health, household economics, and decorating. Inthe picture, Mrs. Whisnant's home eco- nomics girls arethrilledover their first work as seamstresses. COMMERCIAL Typewriting, office practice, bookkeeping, and shorthand--add up to good future office employees. Many students take commercial subjects for personal as well as vocational use. Mrs. Sigmon's typewriting pupils are ea- ger to begin typing each day.

SPANISH More and more students see the need of taking a foreign language as the world becomes smaller each year. MATH The mathematics curriculum fits the needs of any high school student. General mathematics, algebra, and geom- etry aid students who are interested in attend- ing college. SOCIAL STUDIES Since our country's history is of great im- portance to us, all juniors are required to study United States history. World history is offered that students may learnof old empires, religions, and countries of today. Civics, so- ciology, and economics, also, are taught this year. Mr. Carter is shown using an up-to-date map whichaids him as a United States history teacher in his presentation, and assists the students in their understanding. VOCATIONAL AGRICULTURE The program of vocational agriculture at Rock Springs High School includes the follow- ing activities: Classroom work, field trips, farm-mechanics instruction and shop work, supervised farming programs, Future Farm- ers of America activities, exploring job op- portunities, and requirements and types of jobs in the world of work .
