Last Will And Testament State of North Carolina County of Lincoln City of Denver Township of Catawba Springs We, the Senior Class of 1953, do hereby make our last will and testament, ARTICLE I To the principal, Mr. Little, we leave all the paddles and switches so that he may build a bon fire with them, To Miss Miller, we will an annual staff whose eight members can all work every afternoon, To Mrs. Miller, we will all our detached grasshopper heads, legs, and bodies, To Mrs. Maxwell, we leave all our mispronounced Spanish words in hope that she may interpret them. To Mrs. Sigmon, we leave our ability to have a good play after having a terrible dress rehearsal. To Mr. Long, we leave our many exercises in hopes that someday he will have to do them too. To Mr. Carpenter, we leave our curiosity as to what he rattles in his pockets-keys, nails, or money. To Mrs. Little, we leave our ten fingers in hopes that we may master the eighty-eight as she. To Mrs, Baker, we will our appreciation that she is ‘‘plump and jolly’’ rather than ‘‘slim and sour’’, ARTICLE II To the Juniors we leave the job of issuing the great publications ‘‘The Ripple’’ and ‘The Rosphian’’. To the Sophomores and Freshmen, we leave our hopes that before long they will occupy the position that we now occupy. ARTICLE III To the buildings and buses we leave our deepest sympathy after the care we gave them for the past twelve years. ARTICLE IV I, Dorothy Baker, will my excess baggage to Barbara Barker. I, Betty Ballard, will my big mouth to Myrtle Newton, I, Floyd Ballard, will my ability to get along with Mr. Carpenter to Junior Barkley, I, Cranford Barker, will my likes for girls to Tommy Little. I, Grady Barker, will my ability to always have a mouth full of tobacco to Richard Sherrill, I, Vaughn Dean Brotherton, will my place as chief cheerleader to Anita Crouse, I, Peggy Lawing, will my height to Kermit Sigmon. I, Barbara Ann Little, will my ability to worry Mrs. Maxwell in Spanish to Nellie Abernathy. I, Shirley Little, will my love for Business Education to Prue Reynolds, I, Merriel Mundy, will my love for sports to Russell Dellinger. I, Shirley Perkins Richard, will my ability to get married to Dot Perkins, I, Betty Poole, will my long eyelashes to Jewell Lineberger. I, Billie Mae Shellem, will my walk to Perry Sifford. I, Billie June Sherrill, will my giggles to Nancy Ruth Little who needs them worse than T. I, Wade Sherrill, will my height to Russell Dellinger. I, W. J. Thompson, will all my milk in the lunch room to all the cats of Rock Springs High. In conclusion we leave the best school, but take with us the knowledge and pleasure it has given us.
