Getting lectured at! Below: Doing the dishes. Studying hard. Science Registers Mixed Reactions The science classes offered this year were physical science, biology, chemistry, and advanced biology. Physical science studied various properties of the earth and did some work with the metric system. The biology students studied the bod ily functions and the organs of worms, frogs, starfish, clams, and fetal pigs. Chemistry extended the knowledge of the things they learned in physical science and did a lot of work with acids, bases, and salts. Advanced biology was the study of the human body. They also disected sharks and cats. Mr. George Radtke taught these classes. Above-Peeky boo! Below-the brain of the class.

M...-ur' Joey straining his eyes. Moth + Work I Fun Mr. Wayne Moore returned to teach the high school math classes after a years absence. The classes offered were Alge- bra, Geometry, Advanced Algebra, Trignometry, and Phys- ics. These students had homework assignments almost daily and quizes and tests periodically. - r ' as Hard at work. Crossing Borders French and Spanish were offered as Foreign Language class- es this year. The students studied and practiced the basic pronunciation patterns. Understanding the spoken words, reading, Writing, and speaking were also introduced. The study of culture was also an important part of the class- room study. Cultural projects included tlie study of foreign holidays, singing songs in foreign languages, craft projects Cpaper mache and pinatasj discussion of famous personali- ties, and learning proverbs and customs. French and Span- ish classes were taught by Mrs. Jackie Miller. At right: Dec- orations from Spanish fiestas. Olea! ...RI Study! Study! Study!
