ll 4 fi? S ' s if ll 2 'Our Mon The Bluejay Staff would like to dedicate the 1977 annual to Mr. Gerald Gabe', Shineman. Mr. Shineman has devoted twelve years of his life to the Rock Port R-II School system. He received his B.S. in business and teaching certificates in social studies and physical education from Tarkio College in 1962. In 1970 he earned a Master's Degree in administration from Northwest Missouri State University. He was awarded a Specialist's Degree in administration from the University of Missouri at Columbia in August of 1977. After graduating from Tarkio College, Mr. Shineman taught in the Westboro schools from 1962 to 1965. He taught social studies and P.E. and was also head coach of all junior high and high school sports. His teaching career in Rock Port be- gan in 1965. For two years he was PE instructor and head coach of boys, football, track and girls' basketball. During the 1967-68 school year he was elementary principal as well as head football coach. In 1968 he was promoted to junior- senior high school principal and has held that position since then. Mr. Shineman and his wife Juanita have three childreng Steve Patty, and Julie, fall graduates of Rock Port High Schoolj and one granddaughter, Jill. Mr. Shineman is leaving RPHS to take over as superintendent of Stanbury R-II schools. He commented that, The thing I've probably enjoyed most has been the cooperation ofthe kids at Rock Port, not only as students, but as friends. J' Gabe Shineman has given twelve years of hard work and service to our school. Many improvements have been made during the time he has served as principal. For this, we are deeply grateful. We want to wish him the best of luck in the future. He will be greatly missed by the students who workec with him and will always hold a place in their hearts.
