These two were chosen because of all the hard work and time they have spent in Rock Port High School. Mrs. Christy served as English teacher, play director, and Speech and Drama Club sponsor. Mrs. Christy pratically lived at Rock Port High School during the school plays. speech contest, and variety shows, She was respected and liked by all students at Rock Port High School. Some say that she is the best drama coach we've ever had. She not only served the school, but the whole community. Mr. Fran Schwenk was Drivers Ed teacher, PE and coach. His biggest jobs and responsibilites were football and boys track. Mr. Schwenk's interest in sports rubbed off on most of the students. He had winning football and track seasons. Both of these fine peop- le will be missed not only as teachers, but as friends. We the staff of '76 salute Fran Schwenk and Becky Christy. Special Chunks ,,r. Whitham Ms. Stratman Mr. Whitford This year's sixth grade has worked very hard under Kathy Stratman and Richard Whitford, getting ready for the big step up to Junior High. Fifty-five enthusiastic sixth graders started band this year and are looking fowward to being part of the Jr. High Band, The students worked on many social studies and language arts pro- jects and displays throughout the year. Bulletin board displays also showed new concepts of science and math. Activities that they participated in once a week were art and French. These two areas were enjoyed greatly and also helped to make a successful year. Leader of the pack. J f f Above: Mrs. McDonald helps. All grades participated in con- certs, kindergarten--third grade had a Christmas program, fourth--sixth grades had a bicentennial program, and the sixth grade also participated in a junior high assembly. The lower grades worked on unison singing while the upper grades worked on harmony singing. All grades played theory games and learned dances. Miss Parks is pictured lower left. Elementary Band was taught by Mr. Ken Grein er. They learned basic rhythms and the proper care and maintenance of their instruments. They performed at both the winter and spring concerts. There were fifty- tive strong members forming the largest sixth grade band in the history of Rock Port High School. 45 ,MMV Af V A XM I, 1 Qwefiffsg -E VA' if ...Q WSL -.-, X 1 .f Q-mx PDQ! ,r'g. , X Qi' P ,gk WM 3 W4 A ,Nw- w ' INV T-' x g q fa' gi , 5 25 P 7 w5:.a:L,7:, - :E :s f L, if fag, ' wi 46 ,Ynnior J-lion Actions Spook londor lnon Words- if is on onr deeds inn!
