Backbone of Our School System The Board of Education for Rock Port R-ll consists of six members who are elected by the residents of the Rock Port School District. These six people are the backbone of our school's system. They are responsible to the people for all matters pertaining to our school. They are conscientious, deeply dedicated citizens who serve without pay and are interested in the quality of our education. VP' This year the school board members were required by federal law to make public their financial status. Mrs. Marquart taught Literature I and II and Com- position I. Mrs. Christy taught Composition I and II, Com- munication I and Speech I, II and III. In each of these semester classes, students kept journals. Composition students learned about sentence and paragraph structure. Some students in speech, after studying different kinds of speeches, participated in several programs and district and state speech contests.
