In the classes this year taught by Mrs. Io Tarp, the girls experienced adventures into new dimensions of the home economics course. One of these was refinishing furniture. Wanda is shown in the picture below, left, working on an old secretary. Also during semester home economics the girls made tai- lored jackets. This, too, was a new project. Marilyn is shown below right, doing some hand work on her jacket. Along with learning the basics of cooking, the foods stu- dents studied nutrition. To top off their studies, Mrs. Tarp conducted a poster contest. The winners are pictured to the left. They were, from left to right, Susan Lauritsen, second placeg Tina Shewey, first place and Liz Avrett, third place. The girls enjoyed all of the new projects they were in- volved with this year in home economics and are looking forward to what next year will bring. f

Business classes were kept busy by Mrs. Phyllis Fay and The students in Mrs. Runkles' typing classes had the custo- Mrs. Kathy Runkles.
