This was the second year for the jello-eating contest. Many students participated, and at the homecoming assembly, the two final contes¬ tants competed for the final slurp down. The returning champi¬ on, senior Nick Pappas, raced sophomore, Bill Smith. Bill Smith proved to be the fastest slurper at Rocky. Enthusiastic Rocky Students enjoy the Volkswagen race as a different outlook on school activities. Nancy Weeks puts on a sad face in her character as one of Rocky ' s homecoming clowns. Homecoming 7

The week of 1979-80 homecoming was one of memories, and good ' ole fashioned fun. Class assignmen ts were pushed aside for homecoming enthusiasm. For the ones who didn ' t participate physically, spectat¬ ing was sufficient satisfaction. A Volkswa- gon race, egg toss, wagon race, and jello eating contest were events that the stu¬ dent body and faculty enjoyed during the week. 50 years of homecoming fun Rocky students push for a victory in the Volkswagon race. Jeff Robb devotes his concentration to a raw egg in the egg toss. Chris Iverson manages to grasp the egg safely. 6 Homecoming L 4
